Who are we ?

Les Lapidiales is a non-profit association founded in 2000 by Alain Tenenbaum. It currently has about 250 members. Its goal is to invite sculptors  from all aver the world  for residencies, allowing them to create works of art directly on the walls of the chabossières quarry, around predefined themes. From the beginning, the sculptors in residence themselves designate other sculptors to invite, and after 13 years, about 50 artists have stayed in the Lapidiales, leaving about 60 monumental sculptures that more than 75,000 visitors came to see in 2014 in complexe liberty, admission to the site being  free of charge, night and day. Each year, five to seven sculptors in residence are present from May 1 to September 30. Visitors can watch the artists at work and share their impressions with them.
